Big Portax WCF is Bockmann’s engineering-led answer to the double-horse trailer, built in Germany on the WCFplus chassis – a design that borrows more from automotive suspension thinking than traditional trailer-building, with independent torsion and coil suspension rather than a basic shared leaf-spring axle.

That suspension difference is the trailer’s real selling point: independent suspension means each wheel responds to bumps separately rather than transmitting the jolt across the axle to both sides, which in practice means a noticeably smoother ride over the potholes and uneven surfaces common on South African secondary roads, not just showground tar. A large tack room, separated from the horse area by a full partition wall rather than a half-height divider, keeps gear smells and noise away from the horses and gives proper lockable storage.
