Ifor Williams Eventa L

The Eventa L is the larger-bodied entry in Ifor Williams’ event-focused range – built to carry two horses or three ponies up to 17hh, with no built-in storage locker eating into that capacity. In base trim it is a straightforward horse-carrying trailer; the same shell is also available with the Gold living fit-out as an upgrade (see our separate Eventa L Gold listing), which uses the identical body and chassis.

One detail that sets the Eventa L apart from most of the HB range is the tri-axle option. A third axle spreads the load across more wheels and generally improves stability at speed and under braking, particularly relevant on South African highways where you may be towing at 100-120km/h for extended stretches between provinces. It adds cost and a small amount of extra rolling resistance, so it is worth deciding upfront whether your use case justifies the upgrade.

Construction follows the Ifor Williams standard: galvanised steel chassis, aluminium-framed body. Because the Eventa L is designed to accept the Gold living conversion later, the shell is built with that future upgrade in mind – worth asking us specifically whether the unit in stock has the necessary provisions pre-fitted, even if you are buying it in base trim now and only plan to convert it later.
