The floor uses the same rot-proof plastic-over-galvanised-steel approach as the rest of the Bateson range, chosen because it resists the rot that eventually claims timber floors under years of manure, urine and washing-down water – a maintenance headache worth avoiding regardless of which brand you buy. The lockable tack cupboard is a genuine security feature as much as a convenience one, useful at busy showgrounds where gear left visible in an open trailer is a real, if unglamorous, theft risk.

The aerodynamic nose cone is worth a realistic expectation-setting note: it will make a measurable difference to fuel consumption and stability in crosswind over long highway tows, but it is not going to transform a heavy double trailer into something that tows like a small caravan. Still, over the distances South African horse owners often cover between provinces for shows, the cumulative fuel saving and reduced buffeting are genuinely worth having.
