Cheval Liberte Maxi Living Signature

Factory-fitted living version of the MAXI range: herringbone-partitioned two-horse (or three-pony) trailer built on the MAXI4 chassis, with a fold-out bed, under-seat and cupboard storage, and Pullman 2 suspension throughout.

The Maxi Living Signature is the factory-fitted living version of Cheval Liberte’s MAXI range – a two-horse (or three-pony) angle-load trailer built on the reinforced MAXI4 chassis, with a proper living conversion done at the factory rather than bolted on afterwards. Angle-loading, where horses stand at a slight diagonal rather than dead straight, is worth understanding before you buy: it generally gives each horse more shoulder room in a shorter overall trailer length, which some horses load into more calmly than a straight, narrow stall.

The living side includes a fold-out bed and a mix of under-seat and cupboard storage – enough for an overnight stay at a show rather than a full touring caravan setup. Cheval Liberte’s Pullman 2 suspension runs throughout the trailer, including under the living section, aimed at a smoother ride for both the horses and anyone sleeping in it overnight.

Because this is a heavier, more complex trailer than a horse-only model – carrying the weight of two horses plus a fitted living area, water and cabinetry – the towing maths matters even more than usual. Confirm your tow vehicle’s braked capacity against the fully loaded weight, not the empty trailer weight, and check your driver’s licence code covers the combination weight once loaded.

As an imported French trailer with a factory living conversion, ask us about which components (electrics, water systems, cabinetry hardware) are serviced locally versus needing to be sourced from the manufacturer, so you know what to expect if something needs attention down the line. Get in touch to confirm current spec and pricing for the unit in stock.

Because this unit includes a factory living conversion, keep the paperwork from that build alongside your standard South African trailer licensing – a trailer licence disc is required regardless of the living quarters, and clear documentation of the factory fit-out can matter later for insurance and resale value, particularly on a trailer this specialised.
