The Touring Country is Cheval Liberte’s double-horse trailer built around one genuinely useful addition: a proper built-in tack room, rather than a shelf or a locker bolted onto a horse-only design. If you are travelling to shows where you need saddles, rugs and grooming kit alongside two horses, this solves that without a separate tow-behind box or roof rack.

Construction uses anodised aluminium box-section walls over an aluminium floor with 8mm rubber matting – a combination chosen for weight saving and corrosion resistance rather than raw strength alone, which matters on a trailer that will sit outdoors between trips in South African sun and rain. Four sliding windows run along the horse area, giving genuinely usable ventilation and airflow control rather than a couple of fixed vents, useful on long summer hauls to the coast or up-country.

Cheval Liberte’s Pullman 2 suspension is fitted throughout, aimed at a lower, smoother ride than a standard leaf-spring setup – worth noting if your regular routes include gravel farm roads rather than only tar. Loading is via a large front ramp plus a rear combination ramp/door, giving you the option to load and unload from either end depending on space at the yard or showground.
