Ifor Williams Eventa M Base

The Eventa range is Ifor Williams’ event- and competition-oriented line, and the Eventa M Base is the entry point into it – a two-horse trailer for horses up to 16.2hh that gives you the shell and the horse-area fit-out, while leaving the front living area unfitted so you can build it out to your own spec rather than paying for a factory layout you might not use.

The horse area itself is fully fitted, including Ifor Williams’ Herringbone Angle partitioning system – angling horses slightly rather than loading them dead straight, which gives each horse more shoulder room without lengthening the trailer. Standard construction is the usual galvanised chassis under an aluminium-framed, composite-panelled body, which holds up well against Highveld sun and coastal humidity alike compared with untreated steel.

What sets the Base trim apart from a fully-fitted Eventa is exactly what you would expect: the mechanical basics are there – 12V electrics, a 50-litre water tank with an electric pump – but the front section is a blank canvas rather than a finished living space. That is a genuine advantage if you want a custom fit-out from a local converter, or simply do not need overnight accommodation.

For South African buyers this is worth thinking about in cost terms: a fully-fitted living-quarters Eventa costs more upfront than the shell-plus-basics Base model, and if you are planning to fit it out locally anyway, the Base trim avoids paying twice for the same square metre of floor.
