A locking groom’s door comes standard, useful for checking on horses mid-journey without dropping the main ramp, and construction follows the same galvanised-chassis, aluminium-framed, composite-panel formula as the rest of the HB line.

The number that matters most for South African buyers is the 3,500kg maximum gross weight – this is towing-licence territory. Depending on your vehicle and licence code, towing a fully loaded HB610 may require a Code EB licence rather than a standard Code B, since combination weights over certain thresholds move you out of light-vehicle rules. Beyond the legal side, a 3,500kg-rated trailer needs a seriously capable tow vehicle – a proper 4×4 double-cab bakkie or equivalent, with a towbar and braking system rated for the full combination weight.
